Untold Stories Theatre is seeking performers aged 18+* from Calgary and the surrounding area to audition for our production of Heathers: The Musical.

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS

• All auditioners are asked to prepare the following:

  • A 1:00 - 1:30 minute cut of a musical theatre song you love to sing! (Please do not sing a selection from the show).

  • Please prepare a backing track for your song on a device to play your music (i.e., phone, iPod, mp3 player, etc). We will not have an accompanist or piano available but will have a speaker to plug in to.

    • We should have an attachment for both newer iPhones and Android devices, but if you have one bring one with you just in case!

  • NO ACAPELLA AUDITIONS

We are looking to cast 21 performers including understudies/swings for this production. Performers for Heathers: The Musical should be comfortable with the material of the show.

Auditions        

January 7th, 8th, 9th & 12th, 2025

• Tuesday - Thursday: 7 p.m. - 10 p.m.

• Sunday: 1 p.m. - 5 p.m.

• Callbacks:

  • January 19th, 2024: 1 p.m. - 6 p.m.

Rehearsals          

March 2nd - June 5th, 2025

• Tuesdays & Thursdays: 7 p.m. - 10 p.m.

• Sundays: 1 p.m. - 5 p.m.

Tech Days

June 8th - 12th, 2025

• Sunday: 10 a.m. - 10 p.m.

• Monday - Thursday: 6 p.m. - 11 p.m.

Shows

June 13th - 28th, 2025

• Weekdays & Saturdays: 7 p.m.

• Saturdays & Sundays: 2 p.m.

  • Shows on Tuesdays and Wednesdays are tentative and will open dependant on ticket sales. If there is no show on those days, an understudy put-in rehearsal will happen. Even though shows are tentative, it is expected that all cast and needed crew be available for this day.

All cast members must be available for all of tech week and all shows. Please review the production dates to ensure you are able to commit to the show.

ABOUT SWINGS

As a swing, your responsibility is to learn a handful of ensemble tracks (and some larger tracks on a case-by-case basis) and be prepared to jump into those tracks should one of the members of the cast not be able to perform. You will be singing backstage for ALL performances to support vocals and may be onstage for select group numbers. You will also receive a bow at the end of every show. For swings, we look for people who are strong singers, dancers, and actors, and who we can trust to ensure that the show will go on no matter what! This is an excellent area of growth for already strong performers.
